Licensing & activation
WoalzCraft is a one-time purchase on Epic's Fab Marketplace, no subscription. Buying and activating it unlocks Pro, which removes all usage limits. Before your Pro license is in place, the plugin still runs so you can get going, but with a daily AI-time limit until you activate.
You always bring your own AI (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or local Ollama). Licensing controls the plugin itself, not which model you use, and never touches your provider keys.
With Pro vs before activation
| Before you activate Pro | Pro (activated) | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Default on a new or unactivated install | One-time purchase on Fab, then activate |
| AI operations | Limited per day (see below) | Unlimited |
| Full 390+ tool set | ✅ | ✅ |
| Bring your own AI / local Ollama | ✅ | ✅ |
| Works offline | ✅ | ✅ (up to 30 days between online checks) |

Even before activation the plugin is fully featured, not crippleware: every tool is available and it never hard-stops. The only difference is the daily AI-time limit until your Pro license resolves.
Activate your purchase (Pro)
Buying on Fab is step one; activating links that purchase to your copy so the editor resolves your Pro license.
- Buy WoalzCraft on Fab and install it (see Getting started).
- In Unreal, open Project Settings → Plugins → Woalz Account and click Claim your license (or run
WoalzCraft.SignInin the console). This opens a browser device flow and, for a Fab key, the web claim page. - Sign in to (or create) a Woalz account. Claiming binds your Pro license to that account so it follows you across machines, up to 3 PCs.
- The editor re-resolves your license and the status in Woalz Account flips to Pro. The daily limit is gone.
You can use WoalzCraft without an account at all, that is the unactivated state. Activating is what lifts the daily limit and unlocks the Pro you paid for.
Daily limit before activation
Until your Pro license is active, the plugin meters active AI time (time actually spent running generation / edit operations, not idle editor time) and nudges you toward activating:
- Under 2 hours/day: fully usable, no banner.
- Past 2 hours: a one-time reminder to activate Pro. Still fully usable.
- Past 3 hours: AI operations pause until local midnight, then the counter resets.
The limit applies to AI operations regardless of which provider you bring; it gates the plugin, not your model. Non-AI editor work is never blocked. Activating Pro removes the limit entirely.
Honest note: this local limit is a deterrent, not unbreakable DRM, and we say so plainly. The real enforcement is server-side: your Pro license is minted by your Fab purchase and validated live on every cloud call. An unactivated copy stays fully usable and keeps pointing back to Fab.
Offline mode
- Before activation, the plugin works offline with the same daily limit.
- Pro carries a 30-day offline grace: after a successful online validation, the editor trusts your Pro license for up to 30 days with no connection. Reconnect once within that window and the lease renews. If 30 days pass with no online check, the copy reverts to the daily-limited state until it re-validates.
This is why a revoked license eventually steps down even offline: a Pro lease is a lease, not a permanent offline unlock.
Moving PCs and managing devices
A claimed license is bound to your Woalz account across up to 3 PCs.
- Activate on a new machine the same way: install, then Claim your license /
WoalzCraft.SignIn. - See and manage active devices at /account (API keys section): revoke an individual device key, or Sign out everywhere.
- If you signed in on the plugin first, run
WoalzCraft.ShowKeyin the UE Output Log console (it copies the cached key to your clipboard), then paste it under Link a plugin key in /account to merge it into your account.
Troubleshooting activation
Bought on Fab but still limited / not Pro. You installed but did not activate. Open Project Settings → Woalz Account → Claim your license and complete the sign-in / claim. The license only flips to Pro after the claim lands.
"Key not recognised" / stepped back to the daily limit. Your cached key was revoked server-side (common after a password reset, which clears all active keys). Run WoalzCraft.ShowKey to see the cached key, then re-run WoalzCraft.SignIn, or sign in at /account and use Link a plugin key.
"Claim link is missing details." The web claim page expects to be opened from the in-plugin Claim your license button (it carries your machine fingerprint). Start the claim from the plugin, not by visiting /account/claim directly.
Pro on a plane / offline and it locked. The 30-day offline grace lapsed. Reconnect once to re-validate and the Pro lease renews.
Privacy
- Licensing never sees your AI provider keys or prompts, those go straight to the provider you pick. With local Ollama, nothing leaves your machine.
- A claimed license stores only what is needed to bind it to your account and enforce the 3-PC cap. See the privacy policy.
- Sharing your accepted Blueprints to the community Brain is a separate, opt-in setting, off by default, and unrelated to licensing.
